@SPL dbLee Harvey Osmond - Folk Sinner
Right at the buzzer being released in 2013
All of them, can't go wrong with any of them.
….Why are you excluding rap? It's a legitimate musical genre and has certainly been more innovative that rock over the last 30 years.
The Mavericks have been around since the 1990s but went on hiatus for several years then regrouped in the early 2010s. While I no longer listen to much Xmas music, this album, Hey! Merry Christmas! (2018), impressed me right off the bat, especially the first track, "Christmas Time is (Comin' Round Again)." The whole album has a retro vibe and is reminiscent of the 1960s and the Phil Spector sound (and even covers one of the Spector classics "Christmas {Baby, Please Come Home}"). Engineered by the great Niko Bolas.
Here's the track...
There are so few that can sing the way he does.Mavericks' vocalist RAUL MALO has the most amazing voice!

I also like the Mavs album En Español (it was an "album of the year" in 2020 for me). A lot of covers, but also some nice originals. Raul singing "La Sitiera" may just be his definitive performance. And he seems very much at home with the Latin American songs on the album (his parents emigrated from Cuba in the 1960s).
Did he tell his Willie Nelson and the Library of Congress story? 😁I saw Raul Malo last night in Houston doing a solo acoustic show.
No but he was sure making jokes and playing off the crowd.Did he tell his Willie Nelson and the Library of Congress story? 😁
